Social networking for… the rest of us

This, via the Avvo blog … via Facebook (not so ironically):

Are you befuddled by Twitter?  Not sure if you should be on FacebookCarolyn Elefant, a noted expert on setting up a solo legal practice, recently released an e-book entitled Social Networking For Lawyers (download available).  Thanks Carolyn – we send you blog love.

We like the whole idea.  And yes, we’re befuddled by Twitter, including why you can’t really understand it based on the Twitter website.  We’re pretty savvy with this stuff for an old guy but Twitter is eluding us.  So maybe Carolyn explains it good.

Get this book, dum-dum!!

  1. I didn’t cover Twitter that much in the e-book (it was, after all, geared for all lawyers, many of whom are still wrapping their heads around the concept of blogging. But I guess I’d explain Twitter as a bridge between online relationships (e.g., Linked In and Facebook) and offline meetings – it’s a way to take a step closer to the person behind the site. I’m hoping to do a Part II to the book – How to Take Online Relationships Offline.

BTW, thanks for the blog love!
