Solving Unconscious Bias in Hiring

We’ve all heard about legal claims and cases of discrimination and bias in the workplace, but what about all of the people that are filtered out by the hiring process? While often unintentional, hiring managers have an unconscious bias in hiring that is in effect. On average, recruiters only spend 7 seconds reviewing an individual resume. At that speed, bias is sure to impact their decision making. Simple pieces of information about a candidate can leave them in the cold. These identifiers include name, address, and photo. This lead to skewing the results, leaving companies thinking they have a full candidate pool, yet are leaving an incredible amount of opportunity on the table.
