Free speech is a two-way street

Journalist Ron ColemanInk-stained wretch Don Surber goes against the journalism-school grain in response to an Op-Ed by an obscure Kentucky journalism professor offended by accusations of disloyalty against the disloyal and preaching that “you young folks are our only hope”:

I have been called chickenhawk and worse for my support of the War on Terrorism. The First Amendment does not protect only anti-government speech. After 25 years of teaching, [this journalism professor] should know the First Amendment by now.

The sanctimonious, self-righteous, how – dare – you – question – me attitude is tiresome. [This professor] demands utter silence from those who support the war.

It is my Constitution as well. My First Amendment, too. God endowed me with the same damned inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I will not be cowed into silence by people waving the Constitution.
