No, it’s not an estate planning offer, but close. Robert Ambrogi reports about Erik J. Heels, a patent lawyer — whose law firm has actually invented the best-ever, if not the only, useful, pleasing and amusing Flash introduction for a law firm — will file a free provisional patent for you if you get him a Wii for his kids.
Aren’t dads great? And in the public domain, too!
UPDATE: The flash intro’s gone from the Clock Tower Law Group site … I’d like to think Erik’s kids got the Wii!

See? What’d I tell you? Patent and trademark humor is HILARIOUS!
“® The “www.heels.com patent law” stylized beaver logo, the “Clock Tower Law Group” stylized airplane logo, and Clock Tower Law Group® are registered trademarks of Clock Tower Law Group LLC. All other trademarks in the world are the property of their respective owners.”
Of course it’s a trademark. What’s your point, Martin?
That last line: “All other trademarks in the world are the property of their respective owners.” It’s the ultimate catch-all, cover-your-backside clause! Here I’ve been carefully scrutinizing my manuscripts, looking for trademarks I might’ve inadvertantly mentioned and looking them up at PTO, when all I needed was thirteen little words!
Mmmm, maybe Martin. Maybe not. 😉
